An Atlanta native, Karen graduated from The Westminster Schools. She went on to receive her B.A. in Philosophy from Wake Forest University, a M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy from Richmont Graduate University, and a Ph.D. in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute.
Karen did her early training at the Amen Clinic, a leading national clinic based in California and learned how psychiatric illness manifests in the brain. She practices cutting-edge, holistic treatment that focuses on healing the mind-body connection. Karen is licensed as a professional counselor and a marriage and family therapist in the state of Georgia.
Karen co-founded Sweetwater Practice to further meet the needs of the Buckhead and Greater Atlanta community. She works with teenagers and adults suffering from anxiety, depression, ADD/ADHD, trauma, codependency, and grief. Karen believes in a comprehensive approach that addresses the whole person – psychological, social, biological, as well as spiritual.
